Modus is looking for a Web Designer to join their exciting and rapidly expanding agency based in the centre of Worcester. The role is varied and requires a high degree of professionalism, creativity and use of initiative.
The Role
Modus are seeking an experienced web developer.
- Salary: £18,000 – £21,000 depending on experience
- Hours: Full time 37.5 hours a week
- Location: Worcester City Centre
- Great experience with HTML5 and CSS
- Experience understanding and working with custom code Independent problem solving skills
- 2+ years commercial experience in the web industry.
Desired skills
- Great practical understanding of HTML5 and CSS(3)
- Knowledge of understanding jQuery and PHP
- Good understanding of developing responsive/fluid based websites
- Good understanding of developing websites for SEO
- High understanding of WordPress CMS, creation of a custom WordPress themes and various plugins I.E Advanced Custom Fields, Gravity Forms, Events Calendar etc.
- Experience with linux web hosting servers using cPanel and MySQL Experience with email hosting and an understanding of IMAP and POP
- Experience with Virtual Private Server (VPS) and knowing how to manage them
- Experience with setting up hosting (email and web based) and SSL Certificates
- Experience with Heart Internet account setup
- Ability to manage own projects and clients
- Having good time management while working on and managing many projects at once
- Being able to work alone and as part of a team
- Having basic graphic design skills in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Experienced in using both Windows and Mac based operating systems
You will have strong PHP/HTML based development skills and will be working with and building new bespoke website from scratch. You DO NOT need design skills as we have a specialist digital graphic design team.

Duties and responsibilities
Creating and developing websites using HTML / CSS and basic PHP Designing HTML newsletters Developing websites in HTML / CSS and basic PHP Liaising directly with clients to resolve issues Setting up or administering web hosting Take responsibility for our digital assets Answering website enquiries via telephone and email
The ideal candidate will be passionate about web design, and someone who keeps up to date with the latest web design trends and techniques. We are looking for a team player that is happy to step up to new challenges and use their initiative.
We will also provide full training on our Nettl brand of website development. This is unique to our Nettl web studio and is an integrated part of our business, distinct from this role.
